Welcome to D & A Farms, we're thrilled to welcome you to our family, where the heart of the American West beats strong, and the land is as rich as our family history. I'm Dennis Hammond, born and raised in the vast, sweeping landscapes of Southwest Kansas. Agriculture runs deep in my veins, and I've spent a lifetime cultivating not just the land but also a passion for raising cattle the right way.

My wife, Ann, and I made the move to the breathtaking town of Fruita, Colorado, in 2001, bringing our four children along for the adventure. It was here that we decided to expand our cattle operation, bringing the finest, locally grown, and naturally raised beef to our community. As the herd grew, so did our family and we have been blessed with 12 grandchildren to show the ropes to as well.

What does Quality and Integrity mean to you?

We only sell beef that is top quality and humanely raised to our customers. You can trust that every beef is raised and harvested with premium standards to ensure that our customers are getting the most flavorful, juicy and tender beef possible. If we wouldn’t feed it to our family, we definitely won’t sell it to you or your family. 

How are your cattle raised?

Our cattle are raised on mountain pasture located on the Western Slope of Colorado. They are finished on high quality grain and alfalfa/grass hay. At 18-20 months of age, our cattle are finished and ready for the processor. This is the optimal age for tender and flavorful beef.  The younger the steer the more tender the meat. 

How do you define natural raised?

Our natural beef are raised on pastures with no hormones or antibiotics. They are handled with low stress to keep them calm which produces better quality meat.
